Overview
Form Settings, available in the Start Page > Actions drop-down menu, allows users to customize the sort order of menu and sub-menu items in the Main Menu on the left side of the Avionté core application. Form Settings affords users the ability to set their sort order preferences based on their role within the company, workflow or personal preference. All users can set the sort order for themselves without the help of an Admin user. The sort-order preferences are specific to the individual user and will not affect other Avionté users.
Form Settings is different than Admin Tools - Form. Form Settings only affects the sort order of the Main Menu items and does not require Admin privileges, while Admin Tools - Form affects which items are visible in the Main Menu and requires Admin user privileges to access. Setting up Form Settings
To use Form Settings, the config option usr_act_ConfigFormUserSetting must be enabled.
- From the Start Page, navigate to the Actions Menu.
- Click Admin Tools. The Admin Tool Main window will display.
- Under Category, choose System.
- Under Select, choose Config Option. The System | Config Option window displays.
- Click the Config Option by FKName tab.
- In the ConfigOptionType column, type "usr_act_ConfigFormUserSetting" until that is the only config option that appears.
- Select the config option, usr_act_ConfigFormUserSetting so that it is highlighted. The fields in the right-hand panel will populate.
- In the panel on the right, place check mark(s) in the boxes for the users or user groups that should have access to Form Settings.
- Press Tab on the keyboard to save changes.
- To ensure that the changes have been applied, restart the application by clicking the Avionté icon, , in the upper left corner.
- Click Restart Application from the drop-down menu. The application will restart.
- When the application restarts, click the Actions menu from the Start Page.
- The Form Settings option will be available in the Actions drop-down menu.
Using Form Settings
The config option, usr_act_ConfigFormUserSetting, must be enabled in order for the Form Settings option to appear. Enable the config option using the Setup steps listed in Setup section prior to using the Form Settings.
- From the Start Page, click the Actions drop-down menu.
- Select Form Settings from the drop-down menu.
- Set the sort order for the Front and Back Office menu items by placing a numeric value for each item in the Sort Order column. A value of "1" means that item will appear first in the list, a "2" means that item will appear second in the list, and so on.
- Set the order of the main menu items by placing a numeric value for each item in the Sort Order column. A value of "1" means that item will appear first in the list, a "2" means that item will appear second in the list, a "3" means the item will appear third on the list, and so on.
- Click the plus sign, , next to the menu item to expand the list of sub-menu items.
- Set the sort order of all sub-menu items by placing a numeric value for each item in the Sort Order column. A value of "1" means that item will appear first in the list, a "2" means that item will appear second in the list, a "3" means the item will appear third on the list, and so on.
- Click the plus signs, , to show additional items for each sub-menu.
Note: All items will have a plus sign next to them regardless of there being additional sub-categories. If a sub-item is not available, the plus sign will disappear. - Click any additional plus signs, , to sort additional items. A value of "1" means that item will appear first in the list, a "2" means that item will appear second in the list, a "3" means the item will appear third on the list, and so on.
- When finished, click Save and Refresh. The sort order will update in the User Form Settings window, but the application will need to be restart before those changes are reflected in the Main Menu.
- A pop up that says "Please restart the application to load the new changes in form settings." will display. Click OK.
- Click Finish.
- Restart the application by clicking on the Avionté icon in the upper left corner.
- Click Restart Application from the drop-down menu.
- The updated sort order of all the menu items and sub-menu items will appear in the Main Menu.
